Exclusively Snug: Distinctively Dingle
SNUG has attempted to have a relationship with Dingle Distillery in County Kerry since the fellas (Jim, Carey and Tim) went off on their first group research trip in 2022. They arrived excitedly in the village, found out the distillery was closed, had dinner, made it to their B & B in time for a delightful conversation with their host and then ventured out for a night of fun at the Other Voices music festival having no idea that it was even happening. That was almost exactly three years ago!
Since then, Snug has grown that “near-miss” relationship through finding the open hours before visiting, having conversations and actual in person meetings, planning, collaboration and a shared love for Irish whiskey. In early 2025, the Snug Whiskey Club hosted an entertaining and flavorful tasting with Dave Cummins, Global Brand Ambassador with Dingle. We were all charmed by Beardy Dave and have eagerly awaited the arrival of this release since that event!
We hope you will be as DELIGHTED with our 2nd Anniversary Release with Dingle Distillery as we are. This gorgeous single pot still single cask liquid is 6 years old and was matured in ex-bourbon casks. Just 260 numbered bottles made it from the cask for this limited edition.
Bottled at 58.2 % for a robust 116.4 ABV, the finish on this is distinctively Dingle, filled out by the spice of the pot still and the unmistakable nose and initial sweetness of the bourbon cask.
From the distillery: This Single Pot Still Cask Release, matured in a Bourbon Cask, has been specially selected by and bottled for SNUG, Irvington, Indianapolis. As no two casks are the same, every Single Post Still Cask Whiskey from Dingle Distillery is a unique and singular expression which can never be replicated. The influence of the Bourbon cask is reflected in the color, aroma, character and above all, taste of the Irish Single Pot Still Whiskey.
Stream of consciousness tasting notes at 10am on a Friday from Jim (founder) and Lesley (SWC Ambassador):Orchard fruits; sweet smokiness; green apple; pot still spice; caramel; creamy warmth on the nose; floral on the nose; maybe honeysuckle; a warm latte; mellow Christmas Cake; late summer warmth; sunshine and green leaves. We can’t wait to hear your descriptions!
